Imparfait Design Studio is an celebrates the beauty found in places and things that endure over time, embracing the character of historic homes and adding character to new homes. We design elegant and comfortable spaces integrating patinaed finishes, vintage furnishings, patterned motifs and more to create new stories for each home and the people who live there. Listening to our clients and the home itself, we seek details, proportions and cues to make our interior designs look and feel seamless.
Our team comprises experts in architecture and Interiors design as well as whole home renovation. We welcome the opportunity to lead projects from inception to completion, acting as a client advocate with all project partners. Clients also seek our counsel when considering a new home. We can advise them pre-purchase on what is possible within the property’s framework, whether it be an existing home or a new build.

The principles of hospitality guide and inspire everything we do at Imparfait Design Studio. We create spaces that embody ambiance and warmth, striving to include a “best seat in the house” in every room. We consider different vantage points, adding areas of interest throughout the home so that rooms are intriguing from every angle. Surprises and exquisite details, from vintage light fixtures to unexpected art juxtapositions, are an Imparfait signature. And while we love the character and history that lived-in, time-worn elements add to a home, we always ensure modern, harmonious functionality. Our passion is creating immersive home environments where people want to stay and linger, like a great restaurant you want to visit again and again.

20 Years of Interior Design Excellence
Imparfait Design Studio and its sister company, KitchenLab Interiors, were created not from a plan but a passion. Co-founders Rebekah Zaveloff and Nick Nichols realized a shared vision for interior design when they first met in the hospitality business. They dreamed of translating the allure of restaurants – ambiance that enticed people to linger in meticulously designed, unique settings – to residential interiors. KitchenLab Interiors was the first company to manifest that dream and continues to focus on kitchens and ancillary areas. Twenty years later, Rebekah and Nick now introduce Imparfait Design Studio to fully express their approach to home design, including interior design, renovation and interior architecture.
