After raising children abroad, this Tennessee-born couple sought for a home in the lush, laid-back neighborhood of Coconut Grove, ready to embrace their next chapter. Partnering with Imparfait, they envisioned a home that blends traditional elegance and Southern charm, with contemporary design, drawing inspiration from the British West Indies style while incorporating elements from their time living in China. Originally an open-concept layout, the floor plan was thoughtfully reworked to create defined and functional spaces throughout. Imparfait established a foyer separate from the living room, carved out space for a seating area and additional closets in the primary bedroom, enclosed an opening to the dining room, and built a charming breakfast nook in the kitchen. The kitchen was also redesigned for better functionality and flow - streamlining cabinetry, and incorporating a center kitchen island and seating for hosting. Imparfait also consulted on the exterior landscaping, creating a picturesque backdrop for the home. Imparfait furnished the patio, removed the outdoor fireplace, and redesigned the pool, creating an inviting atmosphere with ample room for guests. The result is a refined yet inviting retreat, blending their global influences with the relaxed charm of Miami.
