Imparfait Design Studio works across Miami from a base on West Avenue in Miami Beach: waterfront houses in Coconut Grove and Coral Gables, condos in Brickell and along the beach, and vacation homes that have to be ready for guests the day the owners land. Our Miami projects are whole-home interior architecture and design, from the floor plan and the exterior finishes through the furnishings.
A Miami home has its own rules. The sun is relentless, so windows want deep overhangs, shutters or sheers rather than heavy drapery. The air is salt and humidity, so the materials are stone, tile, teak, rattan, linen and hardware that will not pit. Rooms open to terraces and pools and are lived in barefoot. Miami style, as we practice it, is not the pastel and neon of the postcards; it is the Spanish, Mediterranean and midcentury houses that were already here, brought up to date with a lighter hand.

Space planning is the first step to creating great design. We start each project by measuring the space or looking at existing floor plans with the client to begin the conversation. Much of great design is problem solving and this is where it begins.

We collaborate with our clients while narrowing down design boards, finishes, fixtures and furniture selections. Ensuring that the design flows throughout the house, with a focus on functionality and family-friendly materials, in addition to beauty.
